Reserve enlisted aviation workforce program, DCMS customer service award, Senior Advisor for Diversity and Inclusion appointed, Federally Employed Women Summit and more

Ensign Kathleen Spotz, stationed at Sector Northern New England in South Portland, Maine, was named the 2020 Coast Guard Female Athlete of the year in recognition of her superior performance as a runner. Recently, Spotz ran across the entire state of Maine in just over 30 hours—becoming the first person ever to do so!

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (March 31, 202) Sister ships USCGC Charles Moulthrope (WPC 1141) and USCGC Robert Goldman (WPC 1142) moor side-by-side March 31, 2021, at Sector San Juan as they continue their journey to their new homeport. Charles Moulthrope and Robert Goldman are en route to their new homeport in Bahrain in support of the Navy’s U.S. Fifth Fleet and U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Forces Southwest Asia. While in the U.S. Navy’s Sixth Fleet area of responsibility, the crews will support engagements with partner countries strengthening relationships and demonstrating our continued commitment to global maritime security and stability. Coast Guard Cutter James wins the Excellence in Safety Award: The Coast Guard Commandant, Adm. Karl Schultz, presented the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter James, a National Security Cutter, the Excellence in Safety Award March 18, 2021. The crew of the James was honored for its quick and innovative thinking during a counter-drug patrol. During the 74 days underway, the crew devised and implemented extensive operational and personal protective procedures to keep everyone free from infection and maintain its full mission effectiveness, despite interdicting three detainees that tested positive for COVID-19. Bravo Zulu to the crew of Cutter James!
