The monthlong course, which is open to a select few senior enlisted leaders from other military services, helps prepare new Coast Guard chiefs for the increased responsibility they take on as members of the Chief Petty Officer Corps. Instruction is provided in work-life, wellness, human resource management, oral and written communications, career management, human relations and military customs and courtesies.

Charles Moulthrope and Robert Goldman are en route to their new homeport in Bahrain in support of the Navy’s U.S. Fifth Fleet and U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Forces Southwest Asia. Coast Guard Cutter James wins the Excellence in Safety Award: The Coast Guard Commandant, Adm. Karl Schultz, presented the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter James, a National Security Cutter, the Excellence in Safety Award March 18, 2021. The crew of the James was honored for its quick and innovative thinking during a counter-drug patrol. During the 74 days underway, the crew devised and implemented extensive operational and personal protective procedures to keep everyone free from infection and maintain its full mission effectiveness, despite interdicting three detainees that tested positive for COVID-19. Bravo Zulu to the crew of Cutter James!
