Mara Huling Langevin – A Link in the Long Blue Line

“I never thought about being the first of anything.  All I wanted to do was be a pilot and fly.”  

This 20,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility will boast a contemporary design by the architectural firm SmithGroup that is expressive of sleek hull shapes, vessels under full sail, and wooden hulls. Its curvilinear vaulted roof, wooden decks, and true north orientation aim to harmonize with the waterfront landscape to create awe-inspiring spaces unlike any other at the Academy.

A team from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy participated in the National Security Agency’s 20th annual National Cyber Exercise (NCX), a three-day cyber competition that tests the offensive and defensive cybersecurity skills virtually, April 8-10, 2021. The Coast Guard Academy recently instituted a Cyber Systems degree to meet the needs of the services cyber security strategy of defending cyber space, enabling operations, and protecting infrastructure. Eclipse 2021: "Stronger together: Building bridges through a culture of respect."

Eclipse is part of a cadet-run tradition established by the Coast Guard Academy’s Genesis Council in the 1970’s with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and mentorship.
