The presence of family and friends was a potent reminder of the war’s toll on the Coast Guard community and reflected the members’ shared grief, sacrifice and patriotism.

Kellie August currently serves as the command executive assistant at the RDC and is responsible for a myriad of duties including processing correspondence and awards, preparing the Plan of Week, managing calendars and meetings and coordinating VIP visits. She has been with the Coast Guard for 12.5 years

The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration program was created to right those wrongs. The commemoration honors all United States veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces from Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975. We are in the midst of a 50-year anniversary commemoration of that 20-year period of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.
