The Coast Guard Foundation’s Scholarship Season is now open!

By Keisha Reynolds, MyCG Writer

The pursuit of higher education for your family’s youth this upcoming 2025-2026 academic season, just got easier.

The Coast Guard Foundation scholarship season, which opened earlier this month, will continue to accept applications through April 1, 2025.  Scholarship awards vary between $2,500 or $5,000 and are paid directly to colleges, trade schools or accredited programs.

Each application goes through a comprehensive review to assess academic achievement, community involvement, and demonstrated leadership. A student’s financial need is also a consideration when determining the award levels. Thus, a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) report is required as part of the application package.

“We are proud to support our Coast Guard families, particularly the children, in their educational endeavors that will cause them to continue evolving and growing,” said the Coast Guard Foundation’s Program Manager Sage Williams. “We typically award more than 200 scholarships a year and there is still time to submit.”
