Coast Guard to discontinue Skillsoft Percipio learning platform

By MyCG Staff

The Coast Guard will discontinue access to the Skillsoft Percipio interactive learning platform in June 2025 to the Department due to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) decision to no longer centrally fund this program and the increasing availability of free online training materials.

Since the early 2000’s, DHS has provided Coast Guard employees, reservists, auxiliarists, ombudsman, and spouses access to professional training courses, webinars, and certification materials through Skillsoft’s Skillport and more recently, Skillsoft’s Percipio platforms. The DHS will stop funding this program in June.

Percipio is separate from the Coast Guard’s Learning Management System (LMS)/Online World of Learning (CG-OWL), where members complete mandated training requirements and can take other e-Learning courses. Shutting down Percipio will not affect CG-OWL.

What you need to do

If you’re a Skillsoft Percipio user, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Complete any Skillsoft Percipio learning programs by Jun 1, 2025.
  • Download and save your transcripts before Jun 15, 2025, to save your learning history.  (Instructions are here.)

After June 30, 2025, Skillsoft Percipio will be inaccessible.

The Coast Guard will continue to assess, identify, and broadcast available training resources and professional development opportunities to the workforce.
