“If you’re only using the Coast Guard Business Intelligence (CGBI) program to check your readiness information, then you’re just scratching the surface!” according to Judee Brandt, CGBI Support/Training manager.
The CGBI Support/Training and Outreach Programs offers free onsite and virtual system training and support to help all users make better operational decisions with the Coast Guard’s robust data analytics tools.
“CGBI offers products that allow you to answer data calls more efficiently, obtain metrics for awards, evaluations, and reports, and gain valuable insight for operational and strategic planning,” Brandt added.
The training focuses on system familiarization, data accessibility awareness, and all available tools and products. CGBI support and training includes classroom instruction, community specific training, ad-hoc tailored assistance, and targeted briefs. Any of these sessions may be presented in classroom or virtually.
Classroom Instruction
Classroom instruction is offered within each Coast Guard District annually and to additional units upon request as resources allow. Sessions are tailored based on the data needs of unit types, communities represented by attendees, and by request. Classroom instruction can be provided onsite, virtually or a combination of both.
Community Specific Training
Community-specific training sessions provide a tailored curriculum to support communities such as response, prevention, and intelligence.
Ad-Hoc Tailored Assistance
Ad-hoc assistance is given to an individual or group who needs help with a specific CGBI product, topic of interest, or data need.
Targeted Briefs
The Executive Brief provides a 1-hour overview of the CGBI system and functionality to senior leadership. CGBI provides a general background on the CGBI system and then an abridged live demo with time for a question-and-answer session. Additional CGBI awareness briefs are available for large-group event opportunities.
