Announcing the Presidential Management Fellows Program for FY24

The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program is open to apply for those who are passionate about public policy, leadership, and making a difference in the Federal government. 

Successful Coast Guard civilian applicants will become finalists and are eligible for appointment as Presidential Management Fellows, representing the future leadership of the Federal government and are entrusted with the responsibility of driving innovative policies and programs forward. 

The application period for the PMF Class of 2024 officially opened Sept. 12, 2023, and will close at 12 p.m. EDT on Sept. 25, 2023. 

What is the PMF Program? 

Bearing the Presidential Seal, the Presidential Management Fellows Program is the Federal government's premier leadership development program for advanced degree holders across all academic disciplines. Since 1977, the PMF Program, administered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, has matched outstanding graduate students with exciting Federal opportunities. The program has gone through several changes over its 45 year history, but the mission remains the same: to recruit and develop a cadre of future government leaders.  

PMF seeks individuals who possess a clear dedication to excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.   

Eligibility 

  1. Civilians who are a current graduate presently attending a qualifying college or university and expecting to complete advanced degree requirements by August 31st of the year following the annual application. 
    - or -
  2.  Civilians who are a recent graduate who have completed an advanced degree from a qualifying college or university during the two years preceding the opening date of the PMF Program’s annual application.
