Civilians getting significant 2023 pay raise

By Coast Guard Office of Civilian Human Resources

As you've likely seen in the news, federal civilian employees are getting a significant pay boost in 2023.

GS and SES raises

Civilians will be getting an average 4.6 percent increase.

Here are the new GS pay tables

You'll see the higher pay reflected in your salary for PP01 (official pay date of Jan. 23).

The 4.6 GS raise includes a 4.1 percent increase in base pay, and a locality pay increase of approximately 0.5 percent.

The general increase applies to the GS, GM, AL (Administrative Law Judges), and AD (Coast Guard Academy Faculty Administratively Determined) statutory pay systems and plans.

The new SES/SL salary range also went into effect Jan. 1; the new pay range is $141,022 - $212,100.

Wage system raises

Wage system employees in the WG, WL, WN, WS, and WD pay plan will see their pay increase up to 4.79 percent.

The Department of Defense (DoD) will issue FY 2023 wage schedules. Pay schedules are expected to be retroactive to their normal effective date.

Once issued, you'll find the new wage schedules and their respective effective dates on the Department of Defense Wage website.
