The Coast Guard is getting a new and improved time and attendance system. GovTA will replace webTA in the summer of 2023.
The civilian workforce and their supervisors will be impacted by this transition.
Both WebTA and GovTA have a similar interface and functionality, but GovTA is more streamlined and provides a better user experience.
Who will be impacted?
All civilian employees will transition to this new system, including civilian timekeepers and supervisors of civilians, who will use GovTA to validate and certify timecards, respectively.
What training will be available?
Resources and training will be available prior to implementation. Civilian Human Resources (CG-125) will keep you posted about critical updates. A CG Portal site will share resources, job aids, FAQ and detailed guidance for timekeepers and civilian managers. As we get closer to implementation, look for brown bag informational sessions, demos, and virtual learning sessions.
What’s next?
CG-125 is conducting GovTA user acceptance testing and developing resources, which will be available this spring. Prior to implementation, the Coast Guard will also fulfill required bargaining obligations with our labor partners.
