Dan Buettner, author of "The Blue Zones of Happiness", said “the people you surround yourself with influence your behaviors, so choose friends who have healthy habits.” Last month we held a great conversation regarding tools to cultivate fulfilling relationships and ways we might be able to spot and avoid people who may stress us out. This month, we want to continue the conversation by looking at ways we form healthy attachments with those we allow into our inner circle. We will briefly review part one, so no worries if you missed that conversation.
Please join us for this week’s Wellness Wednesday, today, June 2, 3:00-4:00 p.m., EDT, with our facilitators from the Coast Guard’s First District, Chaplain Jason Ragain and EAPC Leslie Cardona, as they delve into the elements of true compatibility in relationships. During this discussion, they will reference "How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk” by John Van Epp, Ph.D, and review some of the skills he offers in assessing relationships and dating.
For those who are married and may feel left out, we’ll also be covering what to do if you have already married one. And for those who are neither married, nor interested in that type of coupling, these tools are equally useful for identifying friends you can trust, choosing relationships that will benefit both parties who invest.
Please email us if you have questions or suggestions.
