Par! Calling all golfers

The Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Invitational Golf Tournament is scheduled to be held May 5-8, 2021 at the Barefoot Resort Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is the same location as the 2020 tournament.

The tournament is open to all active duty, reserve, Auxiliary, retired, and civilian personnel of the Coast Guard as well as military and civilian dependents and guests.

The tournament consists of three days of individual stroke play followed by a team scramble event on Saturday.

Arrangements have been made to ensure proper social distancing, including assigned tee times and dining facilities set up to maximize social distancing and minimize interaction amongst unassociated participants. All staff members and participants are required to wear a facemask while indoors at the golf course clubhouse as outlined by state, city, or county ordinances. Facemasks are not required on the golf course.

Prizes and awards will be handed out during the event.

The basic tournament package consists of:

  • Four 18-holes rounds of golf;
  • Accommodations for three nights, three lunches, and continental breakfast each morning.

Additional rounds of golf and additional nights lodging are available at discounted rates. Discounted registration is available for active duty members E-6 and below, and civilian employees GS-7 and below.

More details on this event, including registration requirements, resort information and prices can be found here.

Registration deadline is Marc, 31, 2021, or until the field is full. Entries received after that date will be accepted on a space-available basis.

In accordance with paragraph 2.A.10 of the Military Assignments and Authorized Absences Manual, COMDTINST M1000.8  (series), and subject to command approval, administrative absence may be authorized for active duty and reserve participants. Civilian employees wishing to participate in this event may use annual leave, accrued compensatory time off or earned credit hours (if available), or leave without pay.

Enlisted members participating in the May Servicewide Exam (SWE) should have their exams sent to Exam Operational Facility Code (OPFAC) 05-37080. The Educational Services Officer (ESO) for this will be Mr. Gordon Yowell of Sector North Carolina in Wilmington. These members should contact their unit ESO immediately to notify them of the change in exam OPFAC for their tests.
