Vice. Adm. Steven Poulin, commander, Atlantic Area, presented the Director of Operational Logistics (DOL) with its first Meritorious Unit Commendation in, Dec. 1, 2020. Members assigned to the DOL from May 2019 and Nov. 2020 received the award acknowledging their consistent and exceptional service toward the Coast Guard's mission. The members received this honor for providing critical support to Coast Guard missions throughout the Atlantic Area, including the Southwest Border crisis, the 2019 and 2020 hurricane seasons, and the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"DOL has been actively engaged in contingency operations for more than 300 consecutive days," said Rear Adm. Mel Bouboulis, Director of Operational Logistics (DOL). "Dutifully fulfilling daily work tasks while being flexible enough to meet the mission support demands of these contingencies takes dedication and commitment. I am proud of the continued mission support efforts of the members of the DOL, and it is great to see our team receive this much deserved recognition."
DOL celebrated its 10th anniversary in Nov. 2020.
