The office of the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard is soliciting nominations for the 2020 Enlisted Person of the Year (EPOY) program for both active duty and reserve.
The EPOY program is designed to recognize enlisted persons of the year from the active duty and reserve enlisted workforce and is selected from among those serving in pay grades E-2 through E-6.
The performance for each nomination needs to have been during the calendar year 2020. Nominees should reflect a spirit of pride, professionalism, dedication, and represent the Coast Guard core values.
The advancement recommendation for nominees must reflect an either “Ready” or “Not Ready” status on their most recent enlisted evaluation report (EER). Those with a “Not Recommended” status will not be considered.
Nomination packages should be submitted in the manner and format in the reference titled: “Coast Guard Enlisted Person of the Year (EPOY) Program, COMDTINST 1650.36 (series)” which can be found here.
The memo containing the members’ specific bulleted achievements needs to display the nominee's leadership (on and off duty), professional and personal development, community outreach and volunteerism, and impact on unit missions.
Process and Timeline:
Each District Gold Badge Command Master Chief (CMC) should email one active-duty nomination and one reserve nomination to the Office of the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard to arrive no later than Jan. 31, 2021.
