The Human Resource Management (HRM) Achievement Awards provide an opportunity to recognize those who support recruiting, retaining a competent and agile Coast Guard workforce. The HRM Achievement Awards are accepting submissions for employees – military or civilian – that provide outstanding customer service. Do you know someone who thinks innovatively, and who has improved methods in human resource management? What about a team that deserves recognition? Nominate them for the 2020 Human Resource Management Achievement Award.
There are four categories for individuals: officer, enlisted, civilian employees, and non-appropriated fund employees.
A teams category opens nominations for teams consisting of four to 20 members.
Any Coast Guard employee may be nominated for a USCG HRM Achievement award for actions between Jan.1, 2020 and Dec. 31, 2020. The nominee does not need to be assigned to a human resource management position to be eligible, (e.g. executive petty officer, executive officer, division or department head, hiring official, etc.). Commands may nominate as many individuals or teams as desired in each category. Nominations for these awards do not preclude nominees from receiving other awards, such as a personal award, military award, or cash/time off award for the same action.
For specific submission instructions, specific categories, and other details for USCG HRM awards please see the recognition programs manual, COMDTINST M1650.26 (series) and ALCOAST 380/20
A panel is scheduled to convene the week of Feb. 8, 2021 to review nominations and recommend awardees. Members from the human resource management community who wish to be considered for membership on the selection panel should send their request to the point of contact to Chief Warrant Officer Michael Carpenter no later than Nov. 20, 2020. Additional information will be posted to the portal.
