Learn about Microsoft 365 now!

The Coast Guard’s migration to Microsoft 365 (M365) offers new ways to collaborate with your colleagues in ways more dynamic than shuffling attachments through your email inbox. Online training to explore new resources available in the web-based version of Microsoft’s Office are now available. 

Users are highly encouraged to view all available resources, including M365 welcome videos and quick start guides, on the Cloud Office Solution (COS) website (CAC required to access). Users can also register for access to training resources on a wide variety of M365 applications on the COS website in the “Help Me kNow” M365 Training Hub (works best in Chrome). Steps to log into the Help Me kNow hub, including the site registration code, are posted on the website.

The online training in the Help Me kNow Training Hub includes several courses to help guide you through Office 365.The training includes user-paced interactive courses like Getting Started with Teams, Getting Started with OneDrive, and an Introduction to Office 365. These training opportunities are followed up by individual instruction courses:

Office 365: Excel Online
Time to complete: approximately one hour
This training will help you learn how to create and work on your workbooks, share your workbooks, and manage your data and workbook.

Office 365: OneDrive for Business
Time to complete: approximately 45 minutes
In this training, you will learn how to get started using OneDrive for Business, create and upload files in OneDrive for Business, and share documents in OneDrive for Business.

Office 365: PowerPoint Online
Time to complete: approximately 45 minutes
In this training, you will learn how to create, edit, and download presentations in the browser, share and collaborate with others on your presentation, and use PowerPoint Online's more advanced features, such as presenting, embedding, and editing on the desktop application.

Office 365: Word Online
Time to complete: approximately one hour
In this training, you will learn how to create, read, edit, and print documents in Word Online; share and collaborate on documents; search for text, download files, and use advanced Word Online features.

Word 2016: Get Started and Explore Documents, New Features in Word 2016, and the Sharing Options
Time to complete: approximately 45 minutes
Word 2016 has many new features and improvements to make creating and modifying documents easier than ever! In this training, you will learn how to get started creating documents, work with new features in Word 2016, and share documents.

Office 365: Microsoft Teams
Time to complete: approximately 45 minutes
In this training, you will learn how to use the chat feature, use meetings, and customize Teams settings.

Outlook 2016: Navigate the Basics
Time to complete: approximately one hour
In this training you will learn how to manage your email communication, calendar events, contact information, and tasks so that you can start saving time! You will learn how to create, send, receive and manage mail; schedule and manage events; create and edit contacts; create, edit, and assign tasks.

PowerPoint 2016: Presentation & Slide Options – Navigate the Basics
Time to complete: approximately 45 minutes
In this training you will learn about the available slide settings, modifying a presentation, and understanding extra slide functions. You will also learn how to alter the size of a slide, navigate and modify your slides for a presentation, and apply slide functions that spruce up your slides.

Excel 2016: Display Your Data
Time to complete: approximately 45 minutes
Excel 2016 includes many different features you can use to spruce up your workbook by organizing and getting a new perspective on your data, such as charts and tables. In this training, you will learn how to create tables and charts, create PivotTable reports, and personalize the way pages display.
