Event: Bystander Intervention webinar, Sept. 9

By MyCG

About 85 percent of sexual assault survivors know their assailants. Which means we likely know their assailants, too – and may find ourselves needing to step in.

Be ready to lend a helping hand, by taking a free training.

Girls Fight Back will host “SAVE: Bystander Intervention & Practical Strategies for Personal Empowerment” from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. PDT on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The free webinar will take place via Zoom. (Coast Guard members will have to access this on a personal devise as Zoom is not authorized on a standard workstation.)

Self-defense expert Nicole Snell will give you practical tools for using your intuition, setting verbal boundaries, and de-escalation options. She will also teach you about the definition of consent, and ways to support survivors.

The Zoom webinar has space for 100 participants. Register in advance.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
