2023 Inspirational Award Winners

The eight award winners each displayed expertise in their field and rousing leadership of their teams.

The Coast Guard is looking for volunteers to share their skills and experiences with future leaders during the 2023 National Jamboree hosted by Scouts BSA, July 19-28 at the Bechtel Summit Reserve in Beckley, West Virginia.

A team from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy participated in the National Security Agency’s 20th annual National Cyber Exercise (NCX), a three-day cyber competition that tests the offensive and defensive cybersecurity skills virtually, April 8-10, 2021. The Coast Guard Academy recently instituted a Cyber Systems degree to meet the needs of the services cyber security strategy of defending cyber space, enabling operations, and protecting infrastructure. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was on hand to celebrate the class whose motto, Omnes Simul, means ‘All Together’

In January 2023, crews aboard an over-the-horizon boat from Maritime Safety and Security Team San Francisco evaluate a proposed boat crew communications system supporting the Research and Development Center, Defense Innovation Unit and C5I Service Center Team, who won the Commander Joel Magnussen Innovation Award for Management.
