Coast Guard drones can see underwater and inside vessels during response to hurricanes and extreme weather events
The Coast Guard UAS Team used a drone to take this infrared image of the Chevron oil storage tank that caught fire in Pasadena, Texas, Aug. 18, 2020. It was used to determine if the fire was out or there was a risk of re-flash. The red areas indicate where residual heat in the remaining oil and surrounding steel is most intense.
