
Solicitation: 2021 Inspirational Leadership Awards

Inspirational Leadership Awards are an opportunity to nominate colleagues and shipmates that exemplify the Coast Guard’s core values. The Office of Leadership (CG-128) is now accepting nominations for the 2021 Inspirational Leadership Awards. Applications are due by Jan.15, 2021.
Here are the categories:
- CAPT John G. Witherspoon (one active duty and one reserve CG officer)
- MCPO Angela M. McShan (one active duty and one reserve CG Chief Petty Officer)
- Mr. George R. Putnam (one appropriated or non-appropriated funds CG civilian employee)
- COMO Charles S. Greanoff (one Auxiliary Flotilla Commander)
- CAPT David H. Jarvis (one active-duty officer honored by Navy League)
- SM1 Douglas A. Munro (one active-duty enlisted member, honored by Navy League). Note: If the Munro Award winner is advanced to E-7, the member must remain on active duty for two years from the effective date of their advancement.
Nomination guidelines:
- Indicate the candidate’s employment status as active duty, reserve or civilian.
- Clearly outline examples, specific actions, and impact that speak to the award's criteria.
- Commands can include specific examples of coaching, mentoring, affinity, volunteering, and community service outside of the nominee's Coast Guard duties in the nomination.
- Incomplete packages received will not be considered.
